1986 Bentley Turbo R
The Bentley Mulsanne Turbo R was launched in October 1988 at the Birmingham Motor Show, and was a long overdue return of the marque to producing performance cars.
The design project itself, was one of the first for MGA Developments in Coventry, and its new Design Chief, Peter Horbury.
Peter had just left Volvo BV in Holland, and enlisted the help of fellow designers Steve Harper and Chris Johnson to help create the design theme sketches.
So although the car was modelled and developed in Coventry, it had started life in the back bedrooms of the small town of Geldrop in Holland.
