| As part
of the development of the range of cab options in the 7-15
tonne trucks. The sleeper cab was designed and developed,
in conjunction with CAD and the DAF Styling Dept. during 1997
as a fully tooled steel body that integrated with the existing
'day cab' . The design on screen and as clay models was then
fully mastered and tooled, resulting in a very popular effective
complementary vehicle into the DAF truck range |

From this rendering
and others created during the middle of 1987, a project programme
was undertaken to develop a van derivative of the CE14 Escort range.
Tape drawings, feasibility studies and a full-size claymodel were
developed, in conjunction with a team of Ford designers & engineers,
culminating in the release of the master CAD body surface design,
interior structure & trim and panel & detail evaluation prototypes.

In conjunction
with Resinject Developments, now part of Fletcher International
Products Plc, a range of fully tooled plastic bodies were developed
between 1994 and 1998, that could be fitted to a wide variety
of vehicles between 3.5 and 7.5 tonne. The lightweight construction,
plus good aerodynamics and a useful internal volume, enabled a
higher payload to be carried more efficiently than a standard
coachbuilders box-body. The cab-integrated aesthetics also have
resulted in many vehicles being used in prestigious working environments.

As a development
of the Volumaker bodywork projects, in 1998, a range of high quality
horseboxes were developed for vehicles between 3.5 and 17.5 tonne,
on Iveco and Mercedes Benz chassis, with particular attention being
paid to horse access and comfort and excellent crew accommodation.

As China began
redeveloping its vehicle programmes in late '80's, the TJ135,
produced for the Tianjin Corporation, was designed as a low cost
1.5 tonne truck. With innovative design and construction, the
project succeeded by keeping tooling costs to a minimum, and in
less than 27 months from start to finish, resulted in a simple
modern and robust vehicle that met the project brief.
